Tour Program

Home>Tour Program>Korean Language

This program is designed for students who want to learn Korean the way it's actually spoken — in the streets, in the markets, and in the culture that created it. Each morning begins with structured Korean classes taught by our own in-house teachers, grouped by level so that complete beginners and intermediate learners each receive a program built for exactly where they are. Each afternoon takes that morning's learning into the real world, from street food markets to royal palaces to K-pop studios.

Starts at $950 / student (5 days)

*Price is subject to change depending on number of days and requesting programs

Day 1

ARRIVAL & FIRST WORDS

  • Check-in and rest
  • Lunch
  • Level Placement Assessment
Before classes begin, every participant completes a short placement assessment.
  • Language Lecture: "Hangeul: A Writing System Designed in One Generation"
Most writing systems evolved over centuries. Korean did not. King Sejong created Hangeul in 1443 with one explicit goal: to give ordinary people a script simple enough to learn in a matter of days. Tonight's lecture explores what that decision says about Korea's relationship with education, access, and the belief that knowledge belongs to everyone. Why does it matter who gets to be literate?
  • Hangeul Workshop (all levels together)
Every student — regardless of level — starts here together. Learn the structure of Hangeul: the consonants, vowels, and the logic behind how they combine into syllable blocks. Most students can read simple Korean words by the end of this session.
  • Dinner
  • Insadong evening walk
Practice reading the signs, menus, and storefronts of one of Seoul's most traditional streets — entirely in Hangeul. There's no better feeling than reading a word in a foreign script for the first time and understanding it.
  • Insight Discussion Session
